Born of a Sicilian mother and a Franco-Tunisian father, does your inspiration come from these two warm places for your creations?

Sure! The inspiration of my work comes from my heritage, when I was a young boy and I used to, not on see but admire all around me. I use to mix all of my memories with my contemporary. I am a curious person and I like to search everywhere something I like from vintage cloths to food, from old magazines to new publication of illustrators, I like to spend time to check in Instagram artists…this is part of my routine that I mix with my Mediterranean mementos that are full of colors. Every season this colors changes and I can remember episodes of my life. I never stop remembering my heart places. They are bright and together with the perfumes and taste they influence my mind not only for the collection but for everything…like the spices of the Tunisian recipes!

Who are the particolare people who feed this creativity and this energy?

I consider my work as an open book where everyone could look at my vision.

Food is also a source of inspiration for you. Your latest SS23 collection shows it with all this 'pomodori' around. What connection would you make between fashion and food?

I was maybe the first one of my generation that make a marriage between fashion and food. I love to create collection such as I love to cook! For me the point is the creativity… for me there is a big connection with both worlds! Maybe I made it more evident but I can assure that all the colors are connected with the food. The yellow of lemon, the red of my pomodori, the green of the lime... I don’t take in consideration only the nuance… I use all the element when I think that is the moment to do in order to express my vision. I put food details every season!

Your desire to create doesn't stop because you also wrote a book called 10x10 - An Italian Theory. What is this mysterious theory?

The theory is not mysterious because the theory is the love, the power of the world! It is the love that make us feel better every day. Not only the love for the person close to us, love could be for a friend, for our work, for food, for everything. Unfortunately exists people without this precious gift... They need to be influenced by the persons that received it with a big charge!

As a good communicator you also work with Cup Agency, the Florentine showroom Pitti and renowned magazines like Vogue. Where do you find the time to do all this?

I don’t know… maybe the secret is that I do everything as a passion and you do it with the heart you can work double without feel any tiredness…. But sometimes I need to rest ahaha!

You spend a lot of time with your family and children. How important is it for you to know the different generations?

It is the best thing for me. I like to know what the people think, like and love… I love to speak with my friends and with their grannies… and children… you can compare the ideas and understand a lot! It helps me in my work!

Sicilian at heart, you now live in Milan. Are there places that remind you of your childhood in this city?

I live in Milan like a Sicilian still live in his island! I didn’t change anything. If you enter in my house you can feel there…the same thing if you have the chance to enter in my heart!

Which Object Particolare are you carrying?

The edizione particolare is not a simple bag for me! It's a daily casket where I can synthesize and transport the world of a little enriquez every day. From laptop and ipad to some magazine or book… supplements, notebooks and lip balm… as well as lots of scattered coins and dried chestnuts that I always collect when I come across them considering them lucky charms… they too are “peculiar”… like me!
